We Are Not Yet at $800M: Transportation for Massachusetts’ Analysis of Shortfalls in the Senate Transportation Bill

We appreciate the Senate’s goal to invest $800M in transportation.  Unfortuantely, the math doesn’t add up and the public risks having fares, fees, and tolls skyrocket.  New revenues need to be added to the Senate bill to meet our transportation needs.

Our calculations, detailed in this analysis, show that the bill could generate as little as $686M by FY18.  An additional 3 cent gas tax in FY15 and another 3 cents in FY16 would help fix the problem.
