Transportation for Massachusetts fully supports and shares MassDOT’s goal of creating a statewide mode shift that will triple the share of travel by transit, bicycling, and walking in Massachusetts. We agree with MassDOT that we must increase the availability of transportation choices that will improve the quality of life through reducing congestion on our roads, encourage better health through active transit like walking and biking, and improve our environment through the reduction of greenhouse gasses.

In order to make this mode shift goal a reality, and to improve our transportation system overall, we must have stable and long-term funding dedicated to transportation will provide residents with safe, affordable, and convenient choices that allow them to get to where they need to go. Creating a better transportation system statewide must be a top priority as it will boost our economy, improve our quality of life, and promote better health in our communities.
