Massachusetts must be at the forefront of the coming revolution in transportation, and ensure that we are never again ranked 45th among the states. We need to think differently about how we manage and fund all modes of travel, and imagine how innovation, sustainability, climate change, equity and other issues will impact statewide transportation decisions for the people of Massachusetts in twenty years.

The Governor’s appointment of the Commission on the Future of Transportation in the Commonwealth is a step in the right direction, and we applaud the appointment of T4MA members like the Metropolitan Area Planning Council and Merrimack Valley Planning Commission to add their respected voices to these discussions. This will be an exciting conversation and we look forward to the Commission’s work and public engagement.
