(NECN) – Monday’s “Broadside” guests will have a say in what happens to the ambitious transportation plan in Massachusetts after today.
Representative William Straus is the chair of the Joint Transportation Committee. Kristina Egan is the director of transportation for Massachusetts, and Paul Craney is the director of the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance.
What did they have to say about Governor Deval Patrick’s plan to spend $13 billion over the next 10 years?
“I think we still have some information that we’re going to be receiving from the governor where he’s going to have to make a preference known as to what he thinks,” said Straus. “The reality is, and what I expect … is ultimately, the legislature … is going to have to make the difficult choices.
“I agree … we have been underfunding transportation system-wide for many, many, many years.”
